Junkies - again I hate junkies, more now than ever. It's not good enough that they put their own lives and the lives of their families and children at risk, but they have recently(today) branched out into threatening council plumbers.

Yes, I got stuck today by a needle, a bent one, I have been informed this is how the junkies determine if it's one that's been used or not, meaning it had.

By the time you figure in the blood test, tetanus and hepatitisB(ouch) needles, results in four needless needle pricks. Not to mention that this just cost my employer(the cooncil) money in lost time, as well as the NHS in drugs and time. Note that both are funded with public money, which means that WE paid for my afternoon. I don't appreciate being forced into spending needless amounts of cash(I guess it's the Scotsman in me) I'm sure those reading this don't either.

Now I have a wait on my hands to get the test results back and be given the all clear. OK, the chances are slim that I have caught anything major but I'm still a little worried about it. I'm not the kind of person who gets stressed out easily, but this is trying on me a little.

Apparently my arm is going to stiffen up this evening with the HepB jab being STRAIGHT INTO THE MUSCLE!! So I'm typing this before I lose the ability.

I don't generally publish the addresses of the houses in which I work in my plumbing blog, but this isn't that blog so.....

To the previous tenant of 24 Ritchie Place, Tillidrone, Aberdeen,

You are a useless junkie bastard, giving myself and my family undue stress by your blatant disregard for the proper disposal of your paraphernalia. I am not against the use of drugs by addicts. I am against reckless endangerment of others who are not engaging in that activity.

I couldn't give a toss if you OD(or indeed have already OD'd) satisfying your need for a fix. I do care when my girlfriend and my children are forced, by your inappropriate actions, into a worrying situation which needn't have been.

You can rot.

btk

I haven't told the kids and I am not going to, they wouldn't understand anyhow. What gets people into drug misuse? I can't understand it really, I mean I was always told to say no to drugs. I can't imagine anyone telling someone to say yes, so how does it start? Is the carelessness ingrained at the same time? Cunts.

Reclaiming Bank Charges-again! I've been on Martin Lewis's Money Saving Expert site recently quite a lot. One thing is disturbing me. The amount of people who are accepting partial payments from their banks!

Whats up with that? If they are partially paying out they will pay out in full. People are losing thousands of pounds by not seeing it through/chickening out early.

Relax people, you will get your money back, your bank WILL NOT see you in court. You are losing loads of money by accepting these near offers.

For anyone who hasn't claimed yet(in Scotland) heres how....

http://www.penaltychargesforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=16851

It couldn't be simpler. Get your cash back now - and DO NOT accept partial offers, after all, would the bank accept only partial payment of their charges? I think not.

My girlfriend is trying to kill me This is a long term thing, not a recent development however. She is devious about it, perhaps she doesn't want me to know (although the "I am going to kill you one night in your sleep," statements are a bit of a clue.) There are the numerous, "Watch, it's hot" incidents. The "foot shut in the car door" incident, among others...

One such display of this 'will to hurt billy' is displayed in the following picture...

Can you spot the problem here, need a hint? OK, I wanted to fill the kettle once the dishes were done...

That's right, the fekkin cheese grater is knuckle losingly close to the cold tap....

I fear for my life, I really do...

Teeth I've had toothache for about a year now, using various pills and ointments to keep it at bay... well I had new, opposite side of the mooth, toothache over the New Year, specifically Hogmanay itself. I was down in Ayrshire though, which turned out to be a benefit rather than a hinderance, so I found after I called NHS24 for advice.
Abuse them and lose them!
I was allocated a slot next day at Crosshouse Hospital and the tooth was promptly whupped oot.

This then posed the problem of having to eat on my existing toothached side. Nothing pleasant there then.

Now in a one person dies as one is born-esque way, ashley cut her first tooth yesterday. I hope she has more luck with them than I have with mine. Her biting has already annoyed me though as her 'fang' is deathly sharp!

I can't state enough how important good dental hygeine is for your overall health. Toothache is gowping. When people say things like, "Aye there's nothin worse than insert thing here" I always reply, "toothache is worse" and it is.

I have never been good with my teeth regime. Brushing when I remember instead of twice a day. Eating all the wrong foods. Not attending the dentist. Now I'm cashing in the rewards of this life of neglect. and it hurts.

Incidentally on this subject, I found Orajel in tesco(danestone) yesterday, I used this stuff in the states and it kicks the ass of anything else for toothache. Benzocaine kicks ass!

Dad, the kitchen is full of smoke... ...is one phrase you don't want to hear on a sleepy Sunday morning. Yes, I know, I didn't know Sundays had a morning part either but there you go.

The title snippet was uttered by kid-thekid the first this Sunday morning though. I shot downstairs, stopping only to pull on my breeks, (the hoose might be on fire but seeing me in the all together could put my kids in therapy for life, Catty only looks when she has to,) flew into the living room, passing kid-thekids 2 and 3 and burst into the kitchen.

Aye, she was right enough, the kitchen was indeed full of smoke, but hang on, what was the black cinders in the hands of kid-thekid the second? Yes, she had been trying to make toast, using the toaster. This is a good development since nothing is in flames at that moment.

The amount of smoke was amazing though, for 2 slices of toast, which she concurred were inedible, although the bite marks showed she had tried. I opened the windows, gave the kids stern warnings about going in the kitchen when parentsthekid aren't around and closed the kitchen door.

Not a word on my parenting skills please....

Absent Friends I went into the IRC channel i've been in for ever to be greeted with the topic...
Rest in Peace mikee1, we will miss you! Nov. 29th, 2006...Please take a moment to send a prayer or a good thought to mikee's family
I fucking hate that. I know we need to tell people what's going on but just seeing it like that is like a kick in the proverbials.

I left a message on our channel blog about it so what I want to say here is....

Just because you might never meet an online friend in real life in no way makes your friendship any less important. When Rare died I was gutted, tears and everything. Now mikee is gone too. In fact I believe as I started on IRC the chan had just lost Kathryn to cancer. This disease is fast becoming my personal nemesis. It takes all the good ones.

To my online friends, I do think about you all. You all matter...

Buzzzzzzzzzzz We've been doing our Christmas shopping recently and found that we need loads of batteries for all the kids toys. Catty bought them yesterday....

Today I stupidly told my work'mates' at lunch: "Aye, she spent forty quid on batteries yesterday".

...I knew it as soon as I heard myself say it.

Reclaiming Bank Charges It seems the Haliban has conceeded defeat in the ongoing charge reclaim saga.

I phoned them to make sure that's what the money is, but the guy couldn't get into the system. He said to phone back tomorrow between 9 and 5.

So the bank charge score now stands at:
  • Haliban 0 billythekid 15
  • Haliban £0 billythekid £590.79

Happy Birthday It almost escaped my notice, but this blog turned 1 on Sunday. The first post also mentioned that I had just given up smoking, which means that's been a year too. How time flies eh.

I'm now running 1,2,3,4 blogs and consider myself a non-smoker. (well ex-smoker).

One thing I would say is that the cravings for a smoke don't leave. I still find myself 'gaspin fur a fag' from time to time but it does lessen in severity. Thank gawd for Wrigley's Extra.

I bought the motor mentioned in post one too, as we all know, and it's also looking for re-housing now. Offers on a postcard please. Catty still works for Aker Kvaerner and I have changed cooncils from North Ayrshire to Aberdeen City, same shit different coloured payslips.

I still don't have a PC of my own that works as mine is still in it's fried mobo state in the corner. I did rape it for it's hard drives though, 120gig just wasn't gonna cut it. Especially when Catty beeyotches at me for filling it up.

Oh and there are now kidthekids four.

I can now understand some doric too, it surprised me to find that reed is more than just the place favoured by isrealite wimmin when abandoning their weans(loons and quines!) but in fact the first colour of the rainbow. I found this out when told to look for the building with the reed windaz.

The bank charges chase up returns to court on the 11th of January with hearing on the 18th of January(my birthday)...

Here's to another great year and I think I'll have a celebratory drink. You do it too on my behalf ok...

Hilton Chippie... ...kicks ass. Ordered a haggis pudding supper at lunch time today(since the kids get bread priority in my house) and it went down a treat.

5 Stars.

Is anyone else's day shortening? I am synchronising my PC clock every day and it's always about 7 minutes ahead of what it should be...

wth?

Blogger Beta I changed over to blogger beta this week. It's much of a muchness really, although it is definately lightspeed quicker to ftp than the old way.

I also figured I'd change over my plumbing blog to the new widget way, since it's hosted on blogspot and not at the-kid.org. I didn't much like it, ok you can play about with the layout by dragging stuff, (a la google homepages), but I couldn't get the title pic to appear or anything, maybe after a while of playing with it I would have had some success but I just don't have the time! lol

Also the aberdeen blogs site seems to have misplaced my feed so it's not updating properly (I'll email them but it might fix itself out, these things often do)

btk

[edit] Blogger beta also has a tendancy to give a "Sorry we could not proceed with your request" screen, which is lies, I just posted 3 times because of it![/edit]

Tougher race hate laws considered I'm not one to enter the political debates normally, but due to my recent rant on Boorach's comments page, I feel that I've already started...

BNP leader Nick Griffin got off with the charges he was facing yesterday andbecause of this the government are considering a review of the race hate laws as they stand.

WTF!!!!!

I don't condone anything that the hateful and racist Nick Griffin says, but I do think he has the right to say it. Free speech is the single most important part of a free democracy.

Why do we need all this legislation? People should be allowed to say whatever the hell they like, without fear of being turned into a criminal for expressing these views. We don't need to like what they say, and we don't need to go off taking their word as truth and follow them like lapdogs, turning their every word into reality.

People can think for themselves. Not only that but the thoughts they think for themselves should not need to be approved in advance by the powers that be.

If you don't agree with Nick Griffin's speech then fine. If you DO agree then that's fine too. When did we become so hell bent on controlling the population(and by WE I mean T Bliar and co.)

Whatever happened to sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me?

If Nick Griffin was dealing out his message using sticks and stones then charge him, he wasn't he was name calling. He doesn't control anyone's free thoughts though. Heaven forbid anyone should take THAT control from the government.

There will always be idiots in the world. I'm not saying they are right, but they SHOULD be allowed to say it and WE SHOULDN'T need to be told by government what is acceptable.

I don't give a toss if Muslims are offended, I'm guessing that was his point. They need to stop being babies and throwing the toys out the pram, muslims that is. Get a grip people, and recite after me...

Sticks and stones.....

Home Alone I've got the place to myself this weekend. Catty and the kids have gone to Craig Tara for the C/W festival, leaving me to my own devices. Oh the excitement, now what to do.... I know! A cuppa....

Oh I started yet another blog today.... it's here. can you tell I'm bored already! It's all very well having the place to yourself but the silence is deafening on the first night. In fact I can taste my mouth due to not opening it to speak to anyone for 11 hours. I wonder if this is what old feels like....

Rootinest Tootinest Boot Scootinest Catty wants me to run a linedance class for some kids round here, apparently they have reached the limits of their current teacher and are interested in competition.

It's been a while since I ran a class, but I actually quite fancy it. It's also been a while since I dusted off the boots myself, unless you count the continual prancing around the kitchen...

I'm also fairly excited about the prospect of the competition side of it. Seeing everyone from 'the good old days'. I wonder what Rachael is up to these days, and John Wylie, and Christina.

I can't really commit to the whole thing though because of my compulsive nature. Whenever I find a new interest I take it to the extreme, in turn neglecting the important things in life.

No, my dancing boots only come out at special occasions now and that is for the best. (except in the kitchen) ;o)

Parking Patroller 53 When I got into work today the gaffer comes over to me.

"Billy, about that ticket."
"Aye what about it?"
He produces a portfolio, with pictures of the van, AFTER I had already seen it with the ticket scrunched up in the window. (meaning he'd gone and come back later for the pictures!)
"You can't do that again or we might get all our permits taken off us.
"Aye OK."
"It's not funny, we could lose all our permits."
"Aye OK." (I must have been giggling)

Let's face it it IS funny. I mean someone has obviously got themselves fairly stressed up over this, lmao.

WTF is that all about, I mean, I got ticketed for parking on double yellows, fair point. But where does patroller 53 get off sending pictures of the incident to my work?!?!?! what's all that about?

I mean, give me the ticket or give me a warning. Bastard.

I'll see if I can get a hold of the 'portfolio' tomorrow to post on here. Oh, I paid the ticket tonight. The way I figure it, I made more money by parkin gon the double yellows than the fine so screw patroller 53, after all, he's screwing us!

Bach - Invention for Harpsichord n° 8 - (Paul Gilbert)

I was reading through some of the crap on the ultimate guitar site while looking for tabs when I came across a reference to Paul Gilbert and a fast picking style. I put Paul Gilbert into youtube and found this little number.

As a guitar learnee I am totally inspired now.

Inter-effing-net effing Explorer
Can someone please explain to me why css wont work in ie but it works fine in everything else??? This is going to be the end of me!!!! In fact where did I put that picture.....

No prizes for guessing what the yellow bit is!

In fact while it's in my head, one of the boys at work, Aaron from the office, reckoned his mate found an exploit in windows and wrote a patch for it, ensuring the worlds security once more. Multi Billionaire Bill Gates sent him a Microsoft jacket.

Same aforementioned Aaron when told of my interest in scripting, "You don't look like a computer programmer, you look like a plumber."

*Facepalm*
