Reclaiming Bank Charges It seems the Haliban has conceeded defeat in the ongoing charge reclaim saga.
I phoned them to make sure that's what the money is, but the guy couldn't get into the system. He said to phone back tomorrow between 9 and 5.
So the bank charge score now stands at:
- Haliban 0 billythekid 15
- Haliban £0 billythekid £590.79

Happy Birthday It almost escaped my notice, but this blog turned 1 on Sunday. The first post also mentioned that I had just given up smoking, which means that's been a year too. How time flies eh.
I'm now running 1,2,3,4 blogs and consider myself a non-smoker. (well ex-smoker).
One thing I would say is that the cravings for a smoke don't leave. I still find myself 'gaspin fur a fag' from time to time but it does lessen in severity. Thank gawd for Wrigley's Extra.
I bought the motor mentioned in post one too, as we all know, and it's also looking for re-housing now. Offers on a postcard please. Catty still works for Aker Kvaerner and I have changed cooncils from North Ayrshire to Aberdeen City, same shit different coloured payslips.
I still don't have a PC of my own that works as mine is still in it's fried mobo state in the corner. I did rape it for it's hard drives though, 120gig just wasn't gonna cut it. Especially when Catty beeyotches at me for filling it up.
Oh and there are now kidthekids four.
I can now understand some doric too, it surprised me to find that reed is more than just the place favoured by isrealite wimmin when abandoning their weans(loons and quines!) but in fact the first colour of the rainbow. I found this out when told to look for the building with the reed windaz.
The bank charges chase up returns to court on the 11th of January with hearing on the 18th of January(my birthday)...
Here's to another great year and I think I'll have a celebratory drink. You do it too on my behalf ok...

Hilton Chippie... ...kicks ass. Ordered a haggis pudding supper at lunch time today(since the kids get bread priority in my house) and it went down a treat.
5 Stars.
Is anyone else's day shortening? I am synchronising my PC clock every day and it's always about 7 minutes ahead of what it should be...
wth?

Blogger Beta I changed over to blogger beta this week. It's much of a muchness really, although it is definately lightspeed quicker to ftp than the old way.
I also figured I'd change over my plumbing blog to the new widget way, since it's hosted on blogspot and not at the-kid.org. I didn't much like it, ok you can play about with the layout by dragging stuff, (a la google homepages), but I couldn't get the title pic to appear or anything, maybe after a while of playing with it I would have had some success but I just don't have the time! lol
Also the aberdeen blogs site seems to have misplaced my feed so it's not updating properly (I'll email them but it might fix itself out, these things often do)

[edit] Blogger beta also has a tendancy to give a "Sorry we could not proceed with your request" screen, which is lies, I just posted 3 times because of it![/edit]

Tougher race hate laws considered I'm not one to enter the political debates normally, but due to my recent rant on Boorach's comments page, I feel that I've already started...
BNP leader Nick Griffin got off with the charges he was facing yesterday andbecause of this the government are considering a review of the race hate laws as they stand.
WTF!!!!!
I don't condone anything that the hateful and racist Nick Griffin says, but I do think he has the right to say it. Free speech is the single most important part of a free democracy.
Why do we need all this legislation? People should be allowed to say whatever the hell they like, without fear of being turned into a criminal for expressing these views. We don't need to like what they say, and we don't need to go off taking their word as truth and follow them like lapdogs, turning their every word into reality.
People can think for themselves. Not only that but the thoughts they think for themselves should not need to be approved in advance by the powers that be.
If you don't agree with Nick Griffin's speech then fine. If you DO agree then that's fine too. When did we become so hell bent on controlling the population(and by WE I mean T Bliar and co.)
Whatever happened to sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me?
If Nick Griffin was dealing out his message using sticks and stones then charge him, he wasn't he was name calling. He doesn't control anyone's free thoughts though. Heaven forbid anyone should take THAT control from the government.
There will always be idiots in the world. I'm not saying they are right, but they SHOULD be allowed to say it and WE SHOULDN'T need to be told by government what is acceptable.
I don't give a toss if Muslims are offended, I'm guessing that was his point. They need to stop being babies and throwing the toys out the pram, muslims that is. Get a grip people, and recite after me...
Sticks and stones.....

Home Alone I've got the place to myself this weekend. Catty and the kids have gone to Craig Tara for the C/W festival, leaving me to my own devices. Oh the excitement, now what to do.... I know! A cuppa....
Oh I started yet another blog today.... it's here. can you tell I'm bored already! It's all very well having the place to yourself but the silence is deafening on the first night. In fact I can taste my mouth due to not opening it to speak to anyone for 11 hours. I wonder if this is what old feels like....

Rootinest Tootinest Boot Scootinest Catty wants me to run a linedance class for some kids round here, apparently they have reached the limits of their current teacher and are interested in competition.
It's been a while since I ran a class, but I actually quite fancy it. It's also been a while since I dusted off the boots myself, unless you count the continual prancing around the kitchen...
I'm also fairly excited about the prospect of the competition side of it. Seeing everyone from 'the good old days'. I wonder what Rachael is up to these days, and John Wylie, and Christina.
I can't really commit to the whole thing though because of my compulsive nature. Whenever I find a new interest I take it to the extreme, in turn neglecting the important things in life.
No, my dancing boots only come out at special occasions now and that is for the best. (except in the kitchen) ;o)
